I finally
saw the movie this afternoon.
The Plot
was very predictable and somewhat uninteresting. I would have expected better
from George Lucas, especially since I understood it has been production since
1988. The movie didn't live up to the hype. The true story of
the Tuskegee Airmen was glossed over, for a good read on the history of
the Tuskegee Airman checkout the Tuskegee University site. "Red Tails" features some awesome aerial
dogfights and an inspiring story, but a weak script, contradictory score, and
some sad acting prevent it from being the great film it could have been.
If you're
looking for a history lesson, forget it. The Tuskegee Airmen deserve
better than to have their great story reduced to corny dialogue, and clichés in
a conventional movie plot.

Rotten
Tomatoes gave it a 33% on its tomatometer.
The movie
does have one memorable line - Joe 'Lightning' Little: "From the
last plane, to the last bullet, to the last minute, to the last man, we
fight!" Airmen: "We fight!"
"We
fight!" became the rallying cry of the Red Tails, who overcame seemingly
insurmountable odds and adversity to help the U.S. win World War II.
